**I. Introduction**
Hello everyone! Last time I was hanging out with Auntie Zhang, I came across a free promotion for a 3-yuan unlimited data SIM card. I immediately applied for it.
After filling in the required information online, the SIM card was delivered to my address in Nanjing Shunfeng the same day. The delivery was super fast.

â–² I chose the 3-yuan unlimited data plan, and there were no deduction fees. Plus, they even sent me a 100-yuan bill. That's like getting one month of free usage. If you're interested in the details of this card, check out the article written by @Shen Shao Neo.

The card arrived, but there was another issue: This is a China Telecom 4G SIM card, and my OnePlus 3T only supports dual-SIM with one telecom and one mobile card. Since my current mobile plan includes a 199-yuan monthly package, I couldn't use two telecom cards at once. So, I had to find another solution.
I happened to discover the Purple Rice MF885 portable WiFi, which also has a 10000mAh power bank and QC2.0 fast charging support. I thought it was a great option.

â–² I used a 15-yuan discount coupon from Jingdong (worth 299 yuan), along with a gold coin exchange for an e-card. In the end, I paid 158.5 yuan.
**II. Unboxing**

▲ The packaging is very simple, typical of Xiaomi’s eco-chain products, using kraft paper design.

â–² It supports triple-play 4G, with China Telecom only supporting 4G (not 2G or 3G). China Mobile and Unicom support 2G, 3G, and 4G. The maximum LTE download speed is 150Mbps. It has a 10000mAh battery, up to 65 hours of standby, supports QC2.0 fast charging and bidirectional charging. Can connect up to 8 WiFi users and 1 USB device simultaneously.

â–² The front of the package clearly states 4G Netcom, 10000mAh fast charge, and 9-user sharing.

â–² Inside the box: host, manual, and a SIM card slot tool.

▲ Compared to the Xiaomi Mi Power Bank, the MF885 isn’t as efficient in terms of conversion rate, but since it’s mainly a WiFi device, it doesn’t matter much.

â–² Size comparison between the MF885 and the Purple Rice Power Bank.

▲ The side has a built-in micro-USB cable for charging the device or Android phones. I’m a bit confused—why not use Type-C? Most new Android phones now use Type-C.

â–² Removing the charging cable reveals the SIM card slot.

â–² The MF885 supports the smallest SIM card size and comes with a SIM card slot tool.
**III. App Introduction**

▲ After connecting to the MF885’s WiFi, you can use the app to manage the device. The main interface shows data usage, remaining battery, WiFi name, and number of connected users. Also allows sending and receiving SMS through the app.

â–² You can set data packages, alerts, WiFi passwords, user management, and even update the firmware via OTA.

â–² The top notification bar shows router status information.
**IV. Speed Test**
Since this is a China Telecom 4G SIM card, note that the MF885 only supports 4G and not 2G or 3G. Therefore, in areas without 4G coverage, it won’t work.

â–² 360 Speed Test: 2.66MB/s.

â–² Thunder Download Speed: up to 3MB/s.
**V. Battery & QC2.0 Fast Charge Test**
The MF885 supports QC2.0 fast charging. Input: 5V 2A, 9V/12V 18W; Output: 5.1V 2.4A, 9V/12V 15W MAX.

â–² Even when the battery is fully drained, the WiFi can still be used for a while. So the actual capacity is around 7877mAh.

▲ Using a QC2.0 Anker charger and Xiaomi power bank, I couldn’t activate the 12V mode, only 9V.

â–² The output can reach the nominal maximum of 15W.
**VI. Summary**
The MF885 serves as both a portable WiFi hotspot and a QC2.0 bidirectional fast-charging power bank. It’s a great companion for unlimited data SIM cards during travel.
