1. Servo Motor Inspection and Maintenance:
- Monitor Vibration and Noise: While the servo motor is running, pay attention to any unusual sounds or vibrations. If they are not significantly different from normal, it's usually a good sign.
- Visual Inspection: Clean the exterior with a soft cloth or compressed air if there are stains or dirt.
- Insulation Resistance Test: At least once a year, disconnect the motor from the drive unit and use a 500V megohmmeter to measure resistance. A reading above 10 MΩ is considered normal. If it drops below 10 MΩ, contact a professional service center.
- Replace Oil Seal: For motors equipped with oil seals, replace them every 5,000 hours. This should be done by trained personnel only.
- Comprehensive Maintenance: Perform a full inspection every 20,000 hours or 5 years.
- Do Not Disassemble: Never attempt to open or clean the motor yourself unless you are qualified.
- Proper Measurement: When measuring resistance, choose one of the motor’s power lines (U, V, W) and the PG signal line for accurate results.
2. Servo Drive Unit Maintenance:
Although the servo drive doesn’t require regular maintenance, it’s recommended to perform the following checks at least once a year:
- Cleaning: Keep the unit and circuit board free from dust, dirt, and oil. Use a dry cloth or compressed air for cleaning.
- Tighten Screws: Check all terminal blocks and connectors annually. If any screws are loose, tighten them immediately.
- Visual Inspection: Look for signs of overheating, such as discoloration, cracks, or broken components on the housing and PCB.
- Environmental Checks: Ensure that the operating environment is within the recommended temperature and humidity range to avoid damage.
- Firmware Update: Periodically check for firmware updates from the manufacturer to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
