Wanzhou City Hall night lighting engineering design practice

0 Preface

Wanzhou City Hall is located in the main square of Peace Square in Wanzhou District. It was built in 1962. The building has a four-in-one layout. The main building is symmetrical. The second floor is at the bottom. It is west to east. The Soviet style is architectural and brick-wood structure. The building area is about 7500m2. It is the largest surviving Soviet-style public building in Wanzhou District and one of the landmark buildings in Wanzhou District. Party A's intention is very clear: by highlighting its position as a landmark building in Wanzhou District, it will become a window to show the characteristic night scenes of Wanzhou District.

1 Previous research

For the design of single-building night lighting, the preliminary research work is very important. Building is the carrier of light. Before design, it is necessary to make full, detailed and comprehensive understanding of building location and structural details, otherwise it will directly affect the realization of design effect. The field investigation mainly consists of the following three aspects.

1.1 Location relationship

The Wanzhou City Hall is adjacent to the intersection of the Yangtze River and its main stream, the second section of Beibin Avenue to the east, the West Bank and the Construction Bank Building, and the relatively dense high-rise residential buildings on the south side. Therefore, it must be considered in the design that the overall style of architectural landscape lighting should be coordinated with the surrounding public buildings, and the impact of landscape lighting on the south residential buildings must be considered.

1.2 Viewing perspective

On the north side of the building is the Peace Square. At night, more citizens will gather here for leisure, so the main population of the building is the main viewing point. The west and south sides of the building are adjacent to the urban roads, and the east faces the river. The lighting of these three facades should not be ignored. In addition, considering the viewing route of the Yangtze River and the new city across the Yangtze River, the top lighting of the City Hall should also be considered.

1.3 Architectural style and construction details

\The drawing information is lacking due to the long build time. In order to facilitate the illumination calculation in the design process, during the investigation, we did a lot of mapping work on key parts of the building.

The material, color, texture and other factors of the building surface will directly affect the lighting effect. Wall reflectivity is a very important indicator for floodlighting. The wall reflectivity is high, and the utilization rate of the lamp is high, which is conducive to floodlighting. On the contrary, the wall reflectance is too low, the utilization efficiency of the lamps is low, and the energy is wasted, which is not conducive to floodlighting. The color of the wall material is also very important. In the design, the appropriate light source should be selected according to the color and material of the wall. For materials with a warm color, a light source with a lower color temperature should be selected. For a material with a cold color, a light source with a higher color temperature should be selected. At the same time, attention should be paid to controlling the effect of the inherent color of the building surface and the color of the light source; avoiding the adverse effects of graying.

In the survey, we found that the General Assembly Hall was completely renovated. The wall was newly painted with pale yellow paint, and the daughter's wall crepe, line legs, balcony railings, window frames and some detailed patterns were painted with milky white paint. Only by fully grasping these details can you be targeted in the next design.

2 overall concept

Through the analysis and summary of the previous research and the requirements of Party A, the overall concept of the night lighting design of the City Hall is obtained:

(1) To clarify the nature and style of the building, the use of lighting must be stable and vigorous, and be active and enthusiastic. It should conform to the atmosphere of the citizens' square at night and reflect the government's purpose of serving the people.

(2) Comprehensively consider the lighting effects of the main viewing angles, and highlight the architectural details while maintaining the overall unity and coordination.

(3) Consider surrounding residential buildings and public buildings, reasonably arrange brightness levels and light colors, and strictly control light pollution such as glare to avoid damage to residents' living and ecological environment.

(4) Considering the daytime landscape effect, the arrangement and selection of lamps and cables must be as large as possible without affecting the viewing effect of the building during the day.

(5) Implement the principle of green energy conservation, actively adopt green lighting “with equipment and equipment, and divide the state design to control operating costs as much as possible and facilitate installation and maintenance.
