Shen Danyang said that the Ministry of Commerce hopes that "the German side will restart the security review of the merger case, which is only a case, and does not mean that Germany has changed its economic policy."

Some German government officials and people worry that it is unnecessary for Chinese companies to invest in Germany and to transfer German technology and jobs. On October 24, the German Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the withdrawal of the permit issued by the Fujian Hongxin Fund to acquire the German chip manufacturer Aixtron and restart the corresponding evaluation procedures.

A spokesman for Ai Siqiang said to Dexin News Agency on the 26th: "So far, Ai Siqiang has not received any questions related to further review from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs."
