South Korea's MagnaChip launches two LED driver ICs

South Korea's MagnaChip Semiconductor has introduced two new positive-current LED drivers, the MAP1040 and MAP1042, which are used to drive LED-backlit molds on portable screens to meet today's global requirements for 'green' energy efficiency.
The new component can be driven by an LED Driver to drive four types of portable screen LEDs. The MAP1042 is equipped with a dual low-dropout regulator and enhanced power management. The components released this time are driven by a positive current mode, which can save the energy consumption by eliminating the need for external capacitors due to the small size of the wafer. The new components are RoHS compliant. Magnachip said that it will enter the field of notebook computers and TVs in the future.
