According to reports, according to a report submitted by LED packaging factory Dongbei Optoelectronics to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, HannStar will acquire 60% of the new shares issued by Dongbei Optoelectronics through private placement for NT$1.21 billion.
Dongbei Optoelectronics plans to raise NT$2,012 million, or NT$40.24 per share, by issuing 50 million new shares, while HannStar has accounted for NT$1.21 billion.
Dongbei Optoelectronics said that through the IPO, they hope to find more partners in the field of LCD TVs, monitors and notebook backlights to enrich their production lines and increase their competitiveness in the LED packaging market. The funds raised are mainly used to increase the LED packaging capacity for large-size backlight display next year. With the increase in demand for large-size LED backlights, Dongbei Optoelectronics expects that their company's revenue and production capacity will increase by 60-70% next year.
