Factors affecting the service life of FRP blades

Several factors affecting the service life of FRP blades

(L) Flying sand. In the coastal areas, due to the high average annual wind speed, the sand particles brought up when the wind blows will cause a great impact on the rotating fan blades, causing the blade surface to lose its prematureness prematurely. Therefore, flying sand is a major factor in reducing the service life of FRP blades.

(2) Salt spray. In coastal areas and islands, the salt mist concentration is very high and corrosive. It severely corrodes the metal parts of the fan. The shedding of glass fiber reinforced plastic blades is mainly caused by the corrosion of fasteners such as fixing screws. Generally, the leaves are not dropped without the handle.

(3) Hail. Larger hail can cause scratches or pits with different degrees on the surface of the blade. Seriously, the leading edge of the blade can be broken.

(4) Freezing rain. Refers to the phenomenon of freezing after raining first. The adhesion of ice on the blade surface is strong. After the rain freezes on the FRP blade, the surface of the blade expands with the ice. After the ice melts, the blade surface shrinks back. Over time, the blade surface material will become loose and fall off.

(5) Lightning strike. Lightning strikes can cause the blade surface to crack, mainly due to the discharge of exposed metal parts on the blade surface.

Measures to extend the service life of FRP blades

(L) Make waterproof treatment before boarding the machine.

The tip of the blade is mostly nailed with counterweight nails. Some blades are connected to the blade shank through fixing screws. These bare metal parts are easily eroded by rain, which affects the blade life and even causes the blade to fall off. Therefore, before installing the blade, the user should prepare a waterproof paint to seal the exposed metal parts.

(2) Maintain the smoothness of the blade surface.

The finish is high. When the wind wheel rotates, the friction is small and the speed is high. The specific method of maintaining the finish is to apply paint to the leaf surface every 12 or 12 years, and apply it twice each time, with an interval of one hour. When applying paint, the exposed parts of the metal parts on the blade surface should be sealed with paint.

(3) Tighten Ye Qi screws in time.

When the screw is loose, it is difficult to find on the ground with the naked eye. Generally, the fan is touched by hand at low speed to analyze the noise. When the blade is loose, there will be periodic noise, which is easy to judge.

(4) Stop in time when an emergency occurs.

Emergencies mainly refer to strong winds, hail and freezing rain. In the event of strong winds and hail, the wind wheel rotates fast, so that the blade has great kinetic energy, which greatly enhances the impact of sand or hail on the blade and greatly increases the destructive power. Freezing rain will cause the weight of each blade to lose its original balance. If the impeller rotates at high speed, it will generate a lot of vibration. In severe cases, the blade may break, which is very dangerous.

Emergency LED drivers are designed specifically for light fixtures . These emergency backup drivers regulate the power supplied to the LED fixture the same way normal drivers do , but they operate off of a battery instead of line voltage . Because they operate off a battery the light output isn't as bright as the fixture normally would produce , but it will be just enough in an emergency situations . Most of our emergency LED drivers have a maximum emergency operation time of 120 minutes .
