Dr. Wang Yu was invited to attend the future forum _ with Li Feifei Zhou Zhihua to discuss artificial intelligence

On October 29th, the "Future Computer Artificial Intelligence" seminar took place as part of the 2017 Future Forum Annual Conference in Beijing. Dr. Wang Yu, co-founder of Shenjian Technology, was invited to participate in this high-profile event. Alongside five leading figures in the AI field, he shared insights on the current state and future direction of computer science and artificial intelligence. During the discussion, Dr. Wang emphasized that AI, despite its relatively short history, has already shown extraordinary progress and holds potential far beyond what people currently expect. The two-day 2017 Future Forum Annual Meeting kicked off at the China World Hotel in Beijing. With 14 seminars and over 40 influential scientists attending, the conference focused on pressing social issues and technological trends. Dr. Wang Yu represented Shenjian Technology, a leading innovator in the AI industry, at the "Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence" seminar. The panel included top academics such as Li Yunfei, a professor at Stanford University and chief scientist at Google Cloud; Dawn Song, a professor from UC Berkeley; and Zhou Zhihua, an academician of ACM and AAAI from Nanjing University. Industry leaders like Wang Jin, founder of Jingchi Technology, and Shen Haijun, CEO of Car, also joined the discussion. Dr. Wang Yu, who is second from the right in the photo, shared his thoughts on AI as a hotbed for entrepreneurship. Having transitioned from a professor at Tsinghua University’s Department of Electronic Engineering to a co-founder of Shenjian Technology, he highlighted that there is no fundamental difference between academia and industry in AI. Both aim to explore cutting-edge research, but their focus differs in terms of application timing. He noted that while entrepreneurship draws inspiration from academic research, it also faces more immediate pressures. When asked about the development of China's semiconductor industry, Dr. Wang expressed optimism, believing that the third AI boom will bring new opportunities. He analyzed three key factors: market potential, policy support, and talent development. China, as one of the most valuable AI markets globally, is expected to see continued growth. Government policies, such as the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan," have elevated AI to a national priority, providing both financial and regulatory backing. Additionally, the country is increasingly focusing on cultivating AI talent across various sectors, which will drive innovation from enterprises to national levels. Reflecting on the 60-year evolution of AI, Dr. Wang acknowledged that major changes are likely to occur rapidly. He described AI development as an iterative process, comparing it to the rise of companies like Nvidia over the past few decades. Looking ahead, breakthroughs in device circuits or even chemistry and materials could accelerate AI advancements significantly. At the end of the session, experts encouraged young people interested in science to pursue their passions with dedication. As a professor at Tsinghua University, Dr. Wang advised them to identify their interests and commit to at least five to ten years of focused research. This invitation to the highly influential Future Forum further confirms that Shenjian Technology is gaining widespread recognition within the academic community. Recently, the company successfully raised $40 million in its A+ funding round. Moving forward, Shenjian will continue to focus on deep learning acceleration, aiming to deliver more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly solutions to the AI industry.
