Audi LED lighting technology is blocked in the US market

According to Stephen Britz, head of the innovative lighting division of Audi, Audi's lighting technology has changed in the last 10 to 15 years, but the introduction of relevant regulations has further increased the difficulty of innovation in the lighting technology.

Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, has invested huge amounts of money and resources in the lighting technology to try to create new industry technical standards. In recent years, Audi has introduced a number of advanced lamp technologies to improve driving safety.

The design rules for headlights currently in use in the United States have been introduced as early as 1970, longer than the establishment of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Although the US Transportation Safety Administration has adopted Audi's LED technology, which consumes less power and has a longer life, on the lights, the agency does not believe that the use of this technology improves the safety of the vehicle.

It is understood that Audi will use the new headlight technology in the A8 model. Models equipped with new lights will enter the automotive market outside the US in 2014. According to Stephen Britz, Audi will introduce a new way of lighting to consumers, which produces a beam of light between the low beam and the high beam.
