China Mobile recently launched a tender for 4G terminals, and Huawei, ZTE, Samsung, Coolpad and other manufacturers received tickets for mobile 4G commercial mobile phones. The speculation about the issuance of 4G licenses is also endless, and the industry is expected to issue it as soon as the middle of this month.
4G is really coming. Although there is no definite news about the license issuance, the industry generally analyzes that the license will be issued on the 17th of this month, which is World Telecommunication Day. Recently, China Mobile has tendered for 4G terminals, and mobile phone manufacturers have actively catered for them. According to the procurement plan, the bidding for TD-LTE terminal products is 160,000, including about 30,000 portable broadband wireless devices, about 100,000 wireless terminal access equipment, and about 10,000 TD-LTE mobile phones .
During the bidding process, about seven products including Huawei, ZTE, Samsung, Coolpad, etc. were successfully shortlisted. Although China Mobile included the TD-LTE mobile phone in its procurement plan for the first time, with only 10,000 units, it attracted many manufacturers to actively cater. An industry analyst analyzed that the manufacturers did not value this tender, but the "big cake" of the future 4G industry. It can be said that in the competition for the 4G market, China Mobile has everything in the construction of experimental networks and chip research and development. It only owes the Dongfeng license. China Mobile has actively built related supporting networks in many cities. In other words, perhaps within a year can enjoy the speed of 100 megabits per second.
Compared with mobile, other operators like China Unicom and China Telecom do not seem to be worried about 4G. Although the attitudes of all parties are different at present, once the license is issued, a battle between operators is bound to be inevitable. Xiang Ligang, a telecommunications expert and president of Feixiang.com, said that if the license is issued, it must be issued to three operators at the same time, but it is not known which operator can get what kind of license.
