Texas Instruments introduced high-performance lighting LED driver

<p> Recently, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of three new DC / DC LED drivers that can simplify white adjustment for high color rendering and ultra-low dimming in professional-grade indoor and outdoor LED lighting applications. The TPS92660 two-string LED driver and TPS92640 / 1 synchronous buck controller can solve the precise color and brightness control lighting challenges faced by designers to create high-quality lighting engines, fully satisfying commercial area lighting such as architectural and retail displays, LED projection systems and automobiles Running light application requirements.

The TPS92660 is an 80V input voltage, two string LED driver, which contains a DC / DC buck regulator and a linear channel, which can realize the mixing of bi-color LEDs which are usually white and red. Using the I2C interface and one-time programmable ROM, lighting equipment manufacturers can precisely adjust the white relative color temperature (CCT) and brightness of the lighting equipment during the production process to provide special lumen quality for regional, retail, and architectural lighting. This color adjustment method does not require expensive LED picking, which can reduce system cost. Analog or pulse width modulation (PWM) input signals can be used for brightness and color adjustment after ROM programming.

TPS92640 and TPS92641 are industry-leading contrast ratio 85V input voltage, adjustable frequency synchronous step-down DC / DC LED controller, can provide indoor and outdoor area lighting and LED projector required smooth depth dimming mode. The two controllers accept analog and PWM inputs to support 500: 1 and 2500: 1 dimming ratios, respectively. Continuous conduction mode operation can maintain the dimming degree of light, so that TPS92640 / 1 can provide a true analog "zero dimming" function. The TPS92641 adds an input and an output pin to support 20,000: 1 ratio parallel shunt FET dimming.

For intelligent lighting systems, TPS92660 and TPS92640 / 1 can be used with TI 16-bit ultra-low power MSP430 microcontroller to achieve dimming control.
