Sanyo Semiconductor has launched the LA4906 monolithic linear IC. The 17W two-channel (BTL) automotive power amplifier circuit composed of it is shown in Figure 1. LA4906 adopts 23-pin SIP package, built-in signal tracking self-excited switching regulator and innovative non-linear amplifier, which reduces power consumption by 50% compared with previous generation products (such as LA4705), improves efficiency, and greatly reduces external components Quantity.
The two input signals are input to IC ① and ③ via capacitors C1 and C2, and amplified by the amplifier. The two channel signals are output from ⑥, ⑦, and {17} and {18} pins, respectively. The load resistances RL1 and RL2 range from 2Ω to 4Ω (typical value is 4Ω). The voltage gain of LA4906 VG = 30dB, the output noise voltage (VN0) is only about 0.1mV, the total harmonic distortion (rate) THD <2% (typical value is 0.07%).
The transistor (V1) on IC {15} is used as a switch. The schematic diagram of IC internal signal following switching regulator and nonlinear amplifier is shown in Fig.2. The output voltage of the switching regulator is connected to the amplifier output stage following the signal, which can greatly reduce the IC power consumption. The LA4906 uses a voltage as low as 2V as the midpoint voltage, instead of the VCC voltage of the traditional amplifier, which can save the low-end switching regulator. The IC's nonlinear amplifier consists of a differential amplifier with negative feedback. When ground is used as the reference point, half of the normal and reverse waveforms of the BTL output stage are expanded and compressed, as shown in Figure 3. In the circuit of Figure 2, the waveform on the load between point A and point B is still a sine wave, which is the same as the load waveform of the ordinary power amplifier.
The IC {21} pin is connected to the standby switch. As long as the standby voltage between switch SW1 and ground exceeds 3V, the amplifier is turned on. In standby mode, IC consumes less than 10μA of current.
The capacitors C5 ~ C8 and resistors R1 ~ R4 between IC⑥ foot, ⑦ foot and ⑤ foot and between {17} foot, {18} foot and {19} foot are used to prevent oscillation; ⑧ foot and ⑨ foot Capacitor C11 is used to prevent the switching regulator from oscillating. Switching transistor V1 adopts 2SD1668, VD1 adopts SB40-05J or SB10-05A2 Schottky diode, L1 adopts HP-0222Z inductor produced by Tokin Company, and the inductance value is 180μH.
The ICâ‘£ pin is grounded through the capacitor C3, and the beep function is not performed. If the Beep function is required, the Beep input signal can be applied to the â‘£ pin through the resistor divider and C3.
The overheat protection threshold temperature of LA4906 is 160 ° C. As long as the junction temperature reaches this temperature, the IC output is turned off. LA4906 also has functions such as short-circuit protection from output pin to VCC and ground, over-voltage (20V threshold) protection and clipping detection.
