Japan's big company Sharp decided to invest 15 billion yen and is expected to mass-produce LED backlight production lines for LCD TVs in 2010.
Sharp plans to produce blue LEDs at the Hiroshima Epitaxial Film Factory, with an annual production capacity of 5 billion. Among them, about one-third of the amount is used by Sharp TV.
