NEC Display Shipments Surpass 40 Million

NEC Display Shipments Surpass 40 Million NEC recently announced that its MultiSync line of displays has reached 40 million units since it was launched in 1985. To commemorate this milestone, NEC decided to introduce a monitor warranty extension.

Specifically, users who purchase MultiSync monitors (17-30 inches) between December 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011 can enjoy a five-year warranty for an additional $25.

Pierre Richer, president and operations officer of NEC Display Division, said: "It may be forgotten that when Microsoft introduced the Windows 1.0 system in 1985 and Intel released the 16 MHz processor, NEC also announced its own monitor series."

Pierre Richer is obviously proud of his MultiSync monitor and claims that MultiSync is the first peripheral product designed for future PCs, and users no longer need to install new monitors when upgrading personal computers.
