After the Volkswagen exhaust valve, more and more car pits, the southeast car complaint rate is high, FAW new energy is unfinished

Volkswagen is currently the top automotive company in the world, surpassing Toyota. Meanwhile, while the U.S. once took pride in GM, the company faced near bankruptcy. Ford’s situation isn’t much better either, despite having loyal customers. Even Toyota had its own issues with brake problems. One major scandal that Volkswagen found itself embroiled in involved installing special software in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide to manipulate emissions tests. This wasn’t just a minor hiccup; it triggered the resignation of the Volkswagen CEO. While Volkswagen had to face backlash similar to incidents like China's "broken shaft" or DSG gearbox failures, the public reaction was notably different compared to how they handled their own country's car issues. Similarly, domestic car brands aren't without their share of controversies. Southeast Motors continues to receive numerous quality complaints. In the ever-growing SUV market, Southeast Auto is trying to capitalize on the trend by launching SUV models like the Southeast DX7 to boost sales. Despite some positive feedback on the design and value of the DX7, the brand struggles with售后service and reliability. According to the Auto Complaints Network, Southeast Auto has already received 32 complaints this year, affecting nearly all their models. Complaints range from air conditioning malfunctions and engine oil leaks to remote key failures and trunks that won’t close properly. Service issues also plague Southeast Auto. A customer from Qingdao reported that her steering wheel broke during the warranty period, yet the dealership refused to assist. Another customer from Guangdong has been dealing with brake noise issues since last year, with no resolution despite multiple visits. A Beijing customer, owning a V3 Lingyue, faced rust issues on his car, which were dismissed as normal wear and tear by the dealership. In contrast, FAW Group’s new energy vehicle project has seen a different fate. Initially proposed in 2012, FAW aimed to invest 4.348 billion yuan in a new energy vehicle initiative in 2014. This project was supposed to include four production lines for stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly, with a potential annual output of 200,000 vehicles. However, after years of delays, the project was officially suspended in May this year. Over the five-year period, only 24.145 million yuan—or 0.56% of the planned investment—was actually spent. Interestingly, the most significant portion of the investment, the land purchase worth 255 million yuan, has been fully refunded. This indicates that beyond buying land and setting up basic infrastructure, FAW made very little progress on its ambitious new energy vehicle plan. The automotive industry remains unpredictable, with both global giants and local players facing unique challenges. While some brands struggle with scandals and quality issues, others face setbacks in new energy ventures. Yet, the industry continues to evolve, driven by consumer demands and technological advancements.
