Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) has become the third largest automotive safety system after ABS and airbags.

On March 19, 2015, Dalian United Holdings, a leading electronic component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its product has launched a tire pressure monitoring solution based on Infineon SP37.

According to statistics from relevant departments and agencies, 70% of traffic accidents on highways in China are caused by tire pressure: tire pressure is too high, accounting for 20%, tire pressure is less than 57%, and others are 23%. A puncture occurs when the speed is above 160 km, and the death rate is 100%. Therefore, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has become the third largest car safety system after ABS and airbags.

As of 2014, China's car ownership should be around 150 million. With the gradual increase in the call for the introduction of relevant compulsory regulations, this market will heat up sharply. It is not difficult to see from the above two figures that the global TPMS market including China will usher in a rapid growth momentum in the next few years. In response to market demand, Dalian Dapin Jiashun launched a high-performance tire pressure monitoring solution based on Infineon products.

Infineon's SP37 series, which is the third generation of the SP3x family, has sold more than 200 million products worldwide since 2010. The SP37 is a tire pressure sensor chip with a frequency range of 300 to 450 MHz. It integrates a sensor, a single-chip microcomputer and an RF transmitter unit. The maximum output power is +8 dBm (50 Ω load) and the minimum operation is 1.9 V. The internal circuit includes three parts: a power supply filter circuit, a crystal oscillator circuit and an antenna matching circuit.

Silicon Transistor

Silicon Transistor are solid-state semiconductor devices with functions such as detection, rectification, amplification, switching, voltage regulation, and signal modulation. The transistor acts as a variable current switch and can control the output current based on the input voltage. Unlike ordinary mechanical switches (such as Relay and switch), transistors use electrical signals to control their opening and closing, and the switching speed can be very fast. The switching speed in the lab can reach more than 100GHz.
